Nature Guatemala

If there’s one word for nature in Guatemala, it’s diverse. From jungle rivers and volcanic lakes to ancient Maya ruins and coffee farms, every stop felt completely different.

We started at Río Dulce and Livingston, with a reggae boat tour and a cooking class. Further inland, the Maya ruins of Yaxhá and Tikal rose out of the forest. Along the way, we spotted nose bears, woodpeckers, and plenty of monkeys. At Semuc Champey, we swam in the bright turquoise pools, while Lake Atitlán offered boat trips surrounded by volcanoes. In San Juan, we visited a small coffee farm, and in San Antonio, we even painted our own ceramics. The journey ended in El Paredón (view these photos here), and Antigua, with its cobblestone streets, colonial buildings, and volcano views. Guatemala’s landscapes aren’t just beautiful - they’re alive with history, culture, and everyday life.
