‘‘I’m Okay’’

I see it every time we call
eyes that send me nothing but love
but beneath the facade
I know there’s a hurting part
she tries to hide it 
like she always does
doesn’t want to stand in the way
between me and my dreams
even if it means 
me moving away
even if it means 
saying ‘‘I’m okay’’
