Here

I’d like to be that bird
the one that lives at the beach
flying through the day
playing with the waves

So close to the water
like they’re teasing each other
so close to nature
like she’s our loving mother

The bird that has the freedom
to fly anywhere
far or near
and chooses to stay

Here

I was sitting on the beach in Las Tunas, Ecuador. A row of pelicans flew low over the ocean, both moving in the same rhythm. How lovely, I thought, that these birds choose to stay here. I would too.
